How Do I Apply for Financial Aid?

THE JEHS FINANCIAL AID OFFICE STRONGLY RECOMMENDS THAT STUDENTS APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID THROUGH OUT FINANCIAL AID OFFICE (Room123).

WHAT DO I NEED TO APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID?

Please remind your parents that if they are married and file their income tax separately, they CANNOT both file as "Head of Household" or "Single."  The United States Department of Education will not allow colleges and universities to award financial aid to students whose parents commit this crime.

 
If you plan to begin college in the SPRING (January) or SUMMER (June/July) of 2012, you need the following: 
If you plan to begin college in the FALL (August) of 2012, you need the following: 
 
  • to apply AS SOON AS POSSIBLE after the 2011-2012 school year begins
  • to apply AS SOON AS POSSIBLE after January 1, 2012
  • your parents' income tax information (1040 and W-2) for 2010*
* If your parents didn't file income tax and were paid in cash, then you need to come by Room 123 for a notarized statement of income for 2010
  • your parents' income tax information (1040 and W-2) for 2011*

  • your income tax information (1040 and W-2) for 2010 (if you worked and filed taxes)
  • your income tax information (1040 and W-2) for 2011 (if you worked and filed taxes)
  • your driver's license number (if you have one)

  • your Resident Alien card (if you have one)

  • any other income information from 2010 (such as child support, TANF, Disability)
