I was born in Zacatecas, México on 1957. My father died there so my mother decided to come to the Mexican Northern Border, to Reynosa Tamaulipas, México. In Reynosa, I attended to Primaria Miguel Hidalgo (elementary school) , Secundaria José de Escandón (middle school), and Preparatoria José de Escandón (high schoo). I had the opportunity to attend University Valle del Bravo there but only for one year because I had to suspend my education due to economic issues.
Later, I got my immigration’s documents to live in USA, where I started working. I worked doing many different jobs such as laborer, cook, musician, wall paper hanger, and plumber. Finally, after many years, I continued my education taking my basic courses at STCC (now STC). I completed my Bachelors’ degree on Math and Spanish at UTPA. Because, I could not get a job immediately after I finished my degree, I studied two more years to get my Masters’ in Latin American Literature (Spanish).
I started working as a teacher fourteen years ago. Since that time, I have taught here at Economedes High School. Currently, I teach Spanish II B PAP, AP Spanish Language and AP Spanish Literature. Also, I teach some college classes, such as SPAN 2313 and SPAN 2315.
My hobbies are: reading, writing, watching TV, going to movies, visiting new places, talking with people and making new friends. Besides that, I like to question everything in this world. I enjoy read, analyze, and discuss politics, philosophy, religion, music, among other topics.
