JEHS Earns 3 T.E.A. Distinctions!
Congratulations to Johnny Economedes High School(JEHS) for earning 3 Academic Distinctions from the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Schools were notified by TEA on September 16, 2016. Campuses that receive an accountability rating of “Met Standard” are also eligible for distinction designations. Distinction designations are awarded based on achievement on performance indicators compared to a group of 40 campuses of similar type, size and student demographics. JEHS earned distinctions in the areas of Mathematics, English, and Science. This is the most distinctions JEHS has earned under the new accountability system that began in 2012. JEHS senior, Ashley Salas, designed a banner for the school to highlight the grand accomplishment. Dr. Anthony Garza stated, “The academic distinctions validate the hard work that our students and staff put in daily”. The JEHS community is extremely proud of this honor and continue to emphasize that “At JEHS, we expect all students to graduate college and career ready”.
